The Avengers as a space thriller

The crew members of Avenger, a rescue shuttle that has been patrolling space for the past eighteen months, barely get to set foot on home soil before they are sent back out into the cold abyss after an SOS is intercepted from Commander Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D., a military reconnaissance vessel that lost contact with NASA six years ago when the gamma bomb they were tasked to retrieve from Mars exploded en route. As the crew sets off, conflicts are at an all time high. Brothers Loki and Thor have always gotten along, but the relationship has recently become strained; for reasons unbeknownst to Thor, any attempts to bridge the gap with his brother have been met with either sparks of rage or chilling indifference. Meanwhile, the antagonism between Tony Stark and Steve Rogers has reached a point of near-violence with the genius aerospace engineer showing no signs of relenting in his accusations that the twice decorated army captain was given the mantle of leadership simply because the elder Stark, chief of mission control, was trying to prove a point to his son. Tensions of a different sort have emerged between former special ops agent turned astronaut Clint Barton and S.H.I.E.L.D.’s mysterious designer, Lt. Natasha Romanoff, who was cleared to join the mission at the very last minute by high ranking government officials and whose entire life story seems to suspiciously be classified. As Avenger races towards where the signal originated from, the only thing the crew seems to agree on is the gnawing feeling that something is off. Could the long forgotten ship’s plea for help be an elaborate trap? What monsters await them as they delve deeper into the unknown?
